At The Davis Appraisal Company, our job is to help identify the fair market value of your real estate. With over 65 years of combined experience, our appraisers have the expertise to provide you with an honest, knowledgeable, and accurate analysis.

  • Residential

    Whether you are buying, selling, refinancing, or looking to know what your property is worth an appraisal is needed. Almost all lenders require an appraisal before making a home loan. The bank will assign a local appraiser to do the work and you will work directly with your bank. If you’re looking to know the value of your home, give us a call and we’d be happy to assist you.

  • Investment | Rental | Multi-Unit

    When purchasing real estate for investment or rental properties it’s important to make sure you are making a sound investment and we’re here to help. We’ll look at not only the Fair Market Value derived from comparable sales, but also rely heavily upon what is known as the “Income Approach” for determining the value of a property based on the income it generates.

    A farm, empty plot of land or wooded recreational land offers more than meets the eye. Where you see just a stretch of soil and grass, we see proximity to a desirable community, or optimal soil quality for farming, or the ideal location for a future subdivision & all of these influence the value of your property.

    In legal matters, such as divorce, estate, or bankruptcy appraisals are required or highly recommended to receive a fair and impartial value of the current real estate investments. This way all parties involved are fully aware of the true market value.

Meet The Team

Randy Davis, SRPA, SRA

Randy started The Davis Appraisal Company in 1977 when he was a Reese High School Biology instructor. Prior to creating the company, Randy attended Ferris State where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1971. Finding his true calling in the appraisal field, Randy received both the SRPA and SRA designations from the Appraisal Institute in 1983 and retired from teaching in 1984. 

In his more than 44 years of working as an appraiser, Randy a Vietnam era military veteran has continued his education and in 1991 he received the State of Michigan’s Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license. He has also been involved with the State of Michigan, first helping to write appraiser licensing exams and again in 2007, when he was given the first investigator State of Michigan contract to review complaints filed against real estate appraisers. This annual investigation contract continues through 2023.    

When Randy is not living out his life’s work you can find him enjoying his family cottage on the shore of Lake Huron with his wife, two pups, children, and grandchildren.

Brent Davis began working for Davis Appraisal in 2006.

Brent Davis, SRA

Brent began working for Davis Appraisal in 2006. After extensive experience in the field, he obtained his Certified Residential Appraiser license in 2012, along with his Senior Real Estate Appraiser designation from the Appraisal Institute. Prior to joining, Brent attended Central Michigan University where he graduated with a Bachelor in Construction Management and obtained his builder's license. His in-depth knowledge of the construction processes and techniques is a valuable asset when appraising homes.

When not a work you can find Brent in the great outdoors hunting, fishing, snowboarding, and boating. He lives in northeast Michigan with his wife, two children, and Labrador Retrievers Remi and River.
